Experimental stick numbers for minimal stick links

Data for these links resulted from my thesis work Interactive Topological Drawing (1998). See also data for minimal stick knots. To view the links in your browser window, click on the "3D model" links. This will load the link in an interactive viewer (requires Java).

The data presented here are not necessarily minimal stick representatives. For example, other researchers have shown that 6²₁, 6²₂, and 6²₃ all have a stick number of 8. The reason that KnotPlot finds a value of 9 is because it ends up making one component with three sticks. In the case, the other component is probably required to have at least six sticks. The minimal stick 6-crossing links have components with four sticks each.
