Terry Stanway

Terry Stanway is a Master's student associated with the CECM and a mathematics teacher at Vancouver Technical Secondary School. His thesis concerns how advancements in technology, proliferation of mathematical knowledge, and trends in the philosophy of mathematics combine to define how we practice mathematics, what constitutes valid mathematics, and how that mathematics is represented. Part of his thesis work involves the development of a prototype of an extendable mathematical text-based database which can be used to manage user defined forms of mathematical knowledge.
